@ari steam os is the one exception. that's probably because it's image based and only lets you use steam, flatpak and appimage.

@ari mint, pop os and fedora are good recommendations though. fedora is my go to if someone comes to me about linux (2 times now)

@ari i know it's popular to hate on but i personally wouldn't recommend manjaro. i've had bad experiences with arch derivatives (especially manjaro)

@ari for the fedi thing, i've tried a few different explanations and either get met with confusion, disinterest or joked at. i've kind of given up.
for the linux thing i think you're probably right. personally i love arch and KDE. KDE to me feels like the most reliable DE (especially after 6.1). as for arch it's not as annoying to set up as it used to be but I wouldn't recommend it for most people.
