I still want to make my cross platform app idea but gtk gives me mixed feelings, qt is annoying, and most importantly js/ts are so bad I don't want to touch electron
with gtk the documentation is extremely fragmented and you're stuck between gtk4 or gtk4+libadwaita. libadwaita has a lot of really convenient stuff like automatic light/dark and accent color support and it looks nice but only if you're on gnome
automatic light/dark should be possible without libadwaita but it's not built in and I can't find any documentation or guides about it and without it I don't want to use gtk

@yassie_j @iro_miya i have a chinese friend who had 88 in their username because 8 is lucky and 88 is even more lucky. i reminded them that it was a dog whistle. they were aware they just hadn't considered it with their username and they've changed it now

today i tried brisbane metro ("trackless tram") and g-link (real tram) for the first time
i've never been on either type of vehicle before
"metro" is nice enough but g-link makes me wish brisbane never got rid of its tram network
also "metro" plays a jingle through some speakers on the outside of the vehicle every time it arrives at a stop which is fun www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfIBnK1cET8
