aupol, queensland being queensland the australian government ran the first nation wide test of its new AusAlert system on monday. the system is essentially identical to the system that displays alerts on android and ios phones in countries such as the US. while the federal government has called it a success the queensland government has immediately opted out of using it because it doesn't support alerting through landline or satellite. instead the queensland government will stick to its current system which sends voice mail to landlines and sms to mobile phones, even though they could realistically use both. and of course the conspiracy theorists who spent months warning this system would be used for mind control, hacking your phone, and digital ID are now congratulating the queensland government, despite the lack of new mind control or frequency based attacks on our souls
i'm honestly quite disappointed

aupol, abuse of course, the only real concern of the ausalert system was for people who have a secret phone because of an unsafe household. the federal government ran a campaign to make people aware of the upcoming test for months but i fear not enough people may have known
