And? Labour is meant to be the party of social justice.

Fucking Tony Blair “wasted” political capital on gay rights. He’s the reason why the UK became such a queer-friendly country in such a short space of time.

If Tony Blair could support gay people in the early-2000s, and then give them civil unions in 2005, a time when it was considered unpopular, then Andy Burnham can stand by trans people today. It’s just that simple.

re: talking about trans UK politics @pancakes that’s the thing, he’s not really said anything except to suggest that he’s going to continue the policies on trans issues that his predecessors wanted. This is despite Burnham being a transgender ally previously
