@fiore i'll be honest i'm a little obtuse to the implementation details but on the user side you basically just go to the apple menu, services, and then depending on the context (selected text, open document, whatever) it presents a list of actions in every application that has told the system it's capable of handling a certain type of Thing the magic, i think, is in the system's way of determining what services to make available. for example, if you highlight an address, it'll recognize that, and specifically show you actions that are registered as handling addresses that also means the system can do normalization on them, and it can avoid showing you unrelated nonsense
