For the record: on the security release tomorrow, fix-recent-regressions will be merged into develop before the security patches are merged into develop. There is not a way around this, as the only thing that resolves a bunch of merge conflicts is in that branch. I'd like to ask the community as a whole to stop running unstable branches of our software as we can't properly support them.

@julia i hope our attitude of not minding if people run dev (with the usual caveats) doesn't affect you
because that makes sense for us but not most projects and i'm sure it's very frustrating

@pancakes it's a combination of things- we've diverted way too far from stable, basically. So people think develop is reasonable, but it's not, it's just not prod ready.
