i should probably install and move to my new ssd today
putting it off for too long
i'll need to reinstall arch which is the main thing I've actually been putting off
i wanna use btrfs with subvolumes and full disk encryption and would also like to add my old ssd down the line with encryption too
it's mainly the last part that I don't know how to do and need suggestions with

in particular i want to be able to reformat and add the old ssd without reinstalling arch a second time and i want it to be encrypted as well without having to type a passphrase multiple times on boot

@pancakes well you only have to type the passphrase once if you just autologin or use your TPM to unlock

if you don't have a TPM, bummer
if you do, still a bummer because many TPMs are way too insecure, as many can still just be sniffed out on the data lines

so yeah either you passphrase or you autologin+encryption passphrase, ig

@alexia i'm fine with passphrase to decrypt then passphrase to login but don't you need to type it once per encrypted drive?
