Thoughts on Vancouver so far, since I've kinda just been wandering around a bit:
- Fucking amazing views, walked Stanley park today, saw the ocean and the forrest, both are gorgeous.
- Great public transit! I'm very jealous, Pittsburgh's public transit is a joke by comparison.
- Much more diverse than any US city I've been to. I figured there would be a large English and French speaking population, but there's also lots of Mandarin and Spanish speakers as well! Really puts into perspective how xenophobic the US is to have as little diversity as it does (like, I knew, but y'know).
- People are really great here, my phone died on the way back (which was very neodog_scream_scared) from the park and someone helped me find which station I needed to get off at for my hotel.
- Fucking rad community by the looks of it- I didn't talk to too many people but the graffiti saying "trans rights are human rights" in the bathroom and "ban cars" on the "bikes only past this point" sign tells me that it's good.
Overall gets the Julia stamp of approval, very nice city neodog_thumbsup

I nabbed a friend from the aquarium- really really cute place! Its a bit smaller than most aquariums I've been to, but it was well worth the trip neodog_floof

Here's some other highlights from the aquarium!
A seal sitting on a dock lazily, with their head hanging off the edge, staring into the abyss
A unique looking jellyfish, with a lot of splitting tendrils that look almost like a fractal. Its colored mostly white, with purple specks towards the bottom.
A green and black poison dart frog sitting on a leaf.
A biiiig fish, making a blank expression at the camera, with their mouth agape.

The awesome graffiti I saw neodog_cool
No cycling sign that has "ban cars" written on it in pink.
"Trans rights are human rights" written in sharpie on the inside of a bathroom stall. Below it is a bunch of scribbled our indecipherable text.
