Honestly my ONLY gripe with the steam frame is that it doesn't have a wired mode- I like having the option to plug my headset in with a big ol 15 foot USB C cable for decreased latency. But I'm willing to trust foviation based optimizations here- I've seen what foviated rendering can do, and given the initial reactions I've seen, foviated streaming sounds powerful, especially considering that you can pair it with foviated rendering depending on the game.

I'm also cautiously optimistic about how much should be able to be ran on the headset directly,- VRchat probably can't on account of every other model being very poor, but lighter experiences should be enjoyable.

@julia games like beat saber and stride should run very well but i would not expect vrc or resonite to run well no

@pancakes vrc and resonite players should have to take a mandatory course in model optimiz- (she says, making the problem worse with her "very poor" rated model)

@julia i used to be really deep in the vr space but i switched to linux with a quest 2 and around the same time they started making the quest 2 software really inaccessible
they updated the quest ui and made everything tiny, even on the largest text size, and it made it extremely difficult to use
i'm super hyped about frame because i followed it very closely for 3-4 years and now it's real and i know steamvr is more accessible generally speaking
i really want to get back into the vr space so bad
