@julia yep, vrchat desktop works perfectly fine for me (running gnome wayland on fedora)
VR can be hit or miss, steamVR is real janky on linux and for wireless headsets you have to use alvr instead of steam link but it technically works (or you can use monado + WiVRn instead of steamVR, which i found to be a much better experience but it's missing a lot of features from steamVR)
@delta@julia can confirm that in a lot of regards WiVRn seems more usable than ALVR, but if you're playing something that depends on SteamVR specific APIs it may crash
