im nowhere nearly as comfortable with Photoshop CS6 as i am Photoshop CC 2023 but i have gotten the former to work on Linux very easily so i will have to persevere

(if you're thinking of recommending GIMP, um... no!)

@ipg gimp 3 is a big improvement but gimp is not an adequate photoshop replacement if you need photoshop type features
i wish people understood that
(it works for my use case but not for most PS users' cases)
