if you're using rider and it crashes when a run/debug finishes remove
exec from /usr/share/rider/bin/rider.sh line 173. this is a workaround people were using in the comments that works for me

rider has a very common crash bug (RIDER-102338) on linux that is a 5 character modification to fix. i'm too impatient for 2024.2 to release though and don't want to use snapshots so i just fix it myself.
