I know at least that when I'm voting for a party, I'm not doing ranked choice, just a circle next to someone's name, but maybe that's also because we don't do direct elections of prime positions here, just parties and representatives
re: uspol@ShadowJonathan Australia seems to use a combination of ranked choice models which the electrical commission collectively refers to as "preferential voting". it's a bit confusing but from what I understand it's fine. I tried looking into it more but the Wikipedia pages for both models say they've possibly been tampered with which is odd
