@lunareclipse i'm stuck with discord and instagram . discord for the pc owners in my friend group and insta for everyone else. even the one friend who said he wanted to use signal won't commit to it.
please give me something better than discord i need something that's even close to discord matrix's encryption and federation are so cooked that it makes it hard to use but we need to stop giving our communications to inaccessible and closed platforms
@steffo i started contributing a week or two before beta1's release. i've mainly been doing user facing stuff like admin emoji management and some UI stuff

Some other additions include: - support for center, quote (WIP), small, hashtag, and strike MFM nodes (Me) - support for non-image note attachments such as audio and video files (Me) - improved emoji picker (Lilian) - the menu button on notes is now functional, allowing for deleting, redrafting, and opening the original page (Lilian) - added note and user search (Lilian) - admins can clone remote emojis and import emoji packs (Kopper) - many bug fixes and CI improvements (Laura) For a full list of changes check the CHANGELOG iceshrimp.dev/iceshrimp/iceshrimp.net/src/branch/dev/CHANGELOG.md#v2024-1-beta2
thoughtsI said PS1 but I initially thought and mainly see the comparison with N64 graphics. from what I understand the texture warping thing is more of a PS1 thing though so I'm unsure. either way it's pretty nostalgic to me. both consoles are before my time but I played a lot of Mario 64 on Wii virtual console as a kid
thoughtsoh I didn't mention the exploration at all. all of the areas that you go through are cool. it's very traversable and there's lots of ways to get between different places. there's also lots of items to find around the map and it's really rewarding. unfortunately I don't really have an eye for secrets (VI). by the end I had a collectible slot missing and a few locked doors unopened but again that's on me.
thoughtsto be honest the wall kick thing is mostly a skill issue on my part. as I said, lots of misinputs and lots of deaths. it is a cool mechanic and I think it's better than traditional wall jumps in theory. I just don't think I could properly develop the muscle memory for it throughout my run which is a shame.
